Synopsis of the Play

Beauty and the Beast is a love story about a young prince who is turned into a hideous beast for being unkind and disrespectful to an enchantress. He can only become a prince again if he learns to love and earns the love of another person.

Belle is a young lady who lives in a little town and is pursued by Gaston the paragon of the town, but Belle wants much more than a provincial life. Her father gets lost in the woods and is captured and kept in the castle of the beast, and Belle goes to stay in the Castle in her father's stead. She lives in the castle of the beast and gradually falls in love with him before she realizes it. When the townspeople led by Gaston storm the castle to kill the beast, they are overpowered by the enchanted objects in the castle. Gaston almost kills the beast but is pushed down and dies. When Belle comes back to the Castle the beast is almost dying.
